When we visited much of the Marine reserve beach was inaccessible to protect the harbor seals. There are also tide pools to explore in this area.

The Sanchez Adobe is a historic adobe house that was built in the 1840s and is now a museum. Visitors can take a tour of the adobe and learn about the history of the area and the people who lived there.

There is no admission fee to visit the Sanchez Adobe. Park hours are Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 10am-8pm and Saturday and Sunday from 12pm-4pm. Dogs are not allowed.

Sam’s Castle

This castle was built in 1907 by Henry Harrison McCloskey who was an attorney in San Francisco. An architect was hired to design it to be earthquake and fire-proof.
